After two issues though, Rius started using other characters and different themes for every story. Especially the latter became an international bestseller, which inaugurated the ‘For Beginners’ series of books from Writers and Readers and later Icon Books.
At the time he was creating Los SupermachosRius was a communist; this is chiefly noticeable here in a retelling of the story of Adam and Eve as a parable of the Cuban Revolution. His first two comics series were ‘Los Supermachos’ and ‘Los Agachados’which gave a satirical view on Mexican politics.
