Get right into it: I have a background image at dpi and high resolution x I am trying to right text with something simple such as. Trying to convert a TIF file to a rasterized EPS file using “convert -density test. tif “. But Photoshop prompts the resolution when I. I’m aware that the rasterization takes place which is where the problem fundamentally lies, however is there anything more that can be done to.

With ImageMagick, I can do this with the command: Say draw a transparent line, or do a ‘Dst’ compose operation. Stan Bondi 2 2. Jonne, Thanks for imagemagici time and patience.

After unsuccessfully trying some options to render the fonts as outlines including this question and pstoeditI figured out a way to easily convert the PDF into rasterized form using ImageMagick: I wanted to rasterize a Imagemaguck in order to make sure that the form contents look the same everywhere, in particular that they will be displayed by every PDF viewer in the first place.

We could have -noop set the taint variable or we could add a -taint option. I searched for days but i can’t get it I am a rookie with ImageMagick.

Thanks for trying anyway ; This thread has had no comments for weeks, and I still haven’t found an adequate solution. I tried it with a PDF file that contains just some text and equations, and it looked OK, but not great. A better solution is to use profiles. Imsgemagick think I found it, thanks to WW. Anyway, this method is mainly for vectorial elements that can be rasterized at a higher density and then get downsized and the downsizing does some sort of antialiasing.

Read pdftk’s manual for more info on its flags and stuff.

Can evince or xpdf open it properly? For one thing it is rasterized and has a definate DPI associated with it.

Last edited by Drarakel on Sun Sep 26, 6: Yes the operation was successful for me too. My task is to port. Select rastrrize convert final. Using latest version of ImageMagick as well. You can tell me if this question is stupid. If you add the switches before giving the filename of the pdf, it will not ignore -density and such.

For example the original PSD file with a resolution at dpi need to be converted into 72dpi. The pdf2ps ps2pdf method is faster but I noticed for me it was increasing the file size. Email Required, but never shown.

ACD – that’s good to know. Any help would be appreciated. I work for a typography, often from external service we receive bad pdf materials. Fred, What do I do after I discover these values? You can change the handling of the elements that are antialiased. Chrisy is looking at adding a -taint option that marks the image as ‘modified’ forcing convert to actually output the rasterized version of the source image, rather than a direct conversion.

Please tell iimagemagick I’m not crazy.

You can fix that problem by forcing IM to actually read and save the image by doing some operation that doesn’t actually change the image. You can scale a PDF to a width of pixels with the following command: You can, however, modify the resolution of Method 1: I’ve noticed however that there are significant differences in the rendering of text compared to images.

It prints most files okay, but it has problems with some, especially ones generated with Imaegmagick. Some PDFs it simply refuses to print, some PDFs it rasteriae with courier-type font, and some it prints fine except for equations.

Imagemagick: Rasterize the PDF to a set resolution when reading it in – Stack Overflow

If you have problems with specific PDFs, you could upload an example. If I import the pdf in the gimp I believe the gimp imagsmagick uses gs internally for pdf conversionI can set the resolution to whatever I want, and it works. It has to be something to the point of when I’m writing to the pdf. But now that I tried changing more than one page document I saw that only the first page was changed into a jpg file.

Oh, taint means the image pixels have been imgemagick. Is there a solution now?

If I combine -geometry, -density, and -quality, it looks better. Thank you fo rany info?
