And just like last time, much of the climax happened off page, leaving the Harlowe resolution much to be desired. Lily Yu is a hard ass Fed who is mate-bonded to a Lupi, or a werewolf as most of us know them. Refresh and try again. Cynna not so much even though she seems to be a permanent addition to the cast. As I continue reading Eileen Wilks’ books, let’s see if I can try to convince more readers to pick them up too.
In the first book, Rule seemed to have really changed his direction from being a typical lupi who is as promiscuous as mortzl next one to being monogamous to Lily when they are bonded.
The best parts of the book for me centered on Lily and Rule, how they are working to make their relationship work, and what Lily is learning about being a member of the pack. I have no idea what to make of this book.

I see a woman my man diddled in the past coming around for more, I see a woman who is about to lose her face and my man getting the treatment of the highest order of bitchiness. Yet she’s tied to him for life, both of them caught in an unbreakable mate bond. That said, there were some flaws. What I like about their connection is even though the physical bond is there, they still have to work on the emotional side and all the baggage that comes with it. A beautifully crafted paranormal world of magic and magical beings, World of the Lupi is a series I’ve wanted to read but haven’t picked up till a group here on GR started doing a year-long reading challenge.
Where do authors come up with some of this stuff, is beyond me I’m curious to see what happens next, especially between Cullen and the colorful Cynna, whose chemistry is obvious and their banter thoroughly enjoyable. It just doesn’t quite draw my attention like other series have and I’m not really sure why.

Mortal Danger (World of the Lupi, #2) by Eileen Wilks
Lily is not happy about having him around all the time while she searches for the staff and Harlowe. Not the least of which is Lily’s Chinese heritage and how her background and her family give the series an Asian flavor. A new idea at every page turn.
Even just the premise of the second book already has spoilers for the first one so skip reading that if you’d rather not know too much before going into the series. It seems like the book is going to be all about Lily hunting down Harlowe and foiling the possession plan, but that is only the first half. Which is just the way I like it!!!
It gets a little odd at that point, and safe to say that it’s definitely not your average paranormal. It breaks the momentum and insults my intelligence. Wilkz was as black as a secret wish, shining in the clear light of the young sun, newly risen from its bed beyond the horizon.
I just don’t get some of Lily’s stubbornness to refute things she can’t use her six yeah, she even has that magical sensitivity going for her and she’s still stubborn senses to see namely the spiritual. This was more of a 3 stars read for me since the story was stretched all over the place, but dragons were such a eanger addition I couldn’t help myself.
I wish you all Happy Reading and many wonderful books to come! After the weirdness in this book, I am very interested to find out where the author will take us in future books Lily could turn to the man she’s involved with for advice, but for all the passion that flares between them, she doesn’t really know Rule Turner–she’s just bound to him for life.

Looking forward to seeing her grow more as the series continues. Plus, the whole damnation thing It just felt like a tangent. Oct 05, Catherine rated it really liked it Shelves: I’m going to shamelessly borrow a technique from my friend and buddy-reader, Mimi, and shorthand this mortl Cullen plays a much larger role, and I hope Wilks continues to show us more of his character.
In a way, Dangre like that their path to love is not instant or easy. Interestingly, the part about dragons that I thought I remembered, however, wasn’t here and is probably in the next book.
