Thankfully she married her own dark, handsome, brooding hero who has devying patience for her airy ways and attempts to keep her grounded. June Mayson and Evan Barrister’s whirlwind courtship resulted in a secret marriage right before he left for boot camp. I live in Alabama – I’m familiar with the way these people are talking and I promise you How could you not root for her? I also thought that Clay’s history was a glossed over a little. This one was short at least. They like each other right away and they kind of let each other know that right away; however, there is a lack of depth to this story that is not present in books two and three.

Considering all these things and her dreadful past, it is weird how open and chatty she is, and trusts in Clay immediately. Moon writes their books. But I was ok with that. I still liked it, but I actually think having read the two books following it made me like this one more because I went in knowing–and appreciating– a lot more about the characters.

I am really hoping we see more of Melody and Clay in the next 2 books, AND, that their story progresses.

He was still a man of few words and he would get all shy on her at times with his words, but when he did open up to her, it was so damn romantic!!

I was going to skip this book altogether, because I was told it was just a quick, sweet read and not integral oele the rest of the series. But, me being me, I expected some spunk. But I persevered because I lost hope that I will find the book about fighters I will actually love.
