John Piper is an author whose books I would buy without giving it a second thought. It is the rock that rises for us out of the flood of uncertainty and godaard.

Have not read ny of this book as yet but I already am sure I will give it 5 stars. Great book to read but not as a book to read through but as a daily Devotional book. Wonderful short pg. Paul, Minnesota, and in accepted the call to serve as pastor at Bethlehem.
I used this book in lite devotional time in the mornings and found a lot of profound thought about God in His short ‘articles’. Perhaps three-and-a-half stars if I’m feeling generous. Mar aa, Sarah rated it it was amazing. Feb 08, Sean Post rated it liked it. I found most of them somewhat interesting, but a bit dry on the whole. This book is not yet featured on Listopia. A good devotional which covers a variety of topics.

I personally don’t care for devotionals because of the lack of depth and explanation contained in most yb them, but I think Piper did well in depth and explanation while keeping it short. Lists with This Book. His devotion to the glory of God and to encouraging the reader to find full satisfaction in Jesus comes through on every page. John and his wife, Noel, have four sons, one daughter, lifs twelve grandchildren.
John Piper is founder and teacher of desiringGod. One of my favorite devotionals. They are always outstanding.

Both book one and book two have cha I first read this in and devoured it chapters at a time. While I did find some parts worth reading and re-reading – overall this book just provided too much of some things and not enough of others. This book contains devotional-type readings and commentary from John Piper, an American Baptist pastor. Each short meditation provides plenty of meat to chew on.
